As a quite heavy Squadrats user, I wrote some Garmin Connect IQ apps to navigate better between the squares and make sure the tiles have been visited.
In addition there are some other useful apps for navigation and location sharing coming soon ...
Apps are not unfortunately open-source (too ugly to share the code), but the usage is completely free and open to everyone. If there are any suggestions or issues, feel free to contact me.
If you're reporting about an issue, please include your Garmin device model, software version and as much detail as possible.

A simple data field that helps you follow which tiles you have visited. Includes a short track and shows the distances to nearby tiles.
A widget that helps you navigate between tiles. Shows current location on a background map, track and course alongside the tiles.
A data field that helps you navigate a straight line by showing how far you are from the centerline and start/finish points.
